Hello! My name is Julianne, but I answer to "Boz." I am a college student from the United States, and am a huge geek. I enjoy playing video games, especially MMOs, and love all things Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, The Office, and Indiana Jones. I really enjoy snowboarding, skiing, playing soccer, riding horses, and reading. I am a writer, amateur drawer, and fan of messing around with photoshop and photography. Heavy metal and hard rock music is my all-time favorite as well! I am an Eclectic Pagan and respect all kinds of people.

I do not have a scanner in my dorm room, so most of my deviations will, for now, be submitted via camera. They will mainly be my sketches that I am practicing in an attempt to get into drawing. If you have any questions, or want to chat about mutual geekiness (or something), just send me a note!

Interests
So, last month, I commissioned an artist to paint a picture for my brother's birthday. The forum thread where I advertised is here: forum.deviantart.com/jobs/offe…

I sifted through 116 portfolios, which was very difficult, and chose an artist whose style I really liked and who fit my price-range.

I picked :icont00xicpanda: for the job, and she did beautifully!

Here is the finished piece:

I told my brother that I had got a painting done for him, and that it was ordered as a poster, and would come in within a few days so that it could be hung in his room.

I showed him the finished picture on my laptop, and asked, "Do you recognize who that is?" He grinned ear to ear and said, "It's my mage! That is so cool!" He absolutely loved it, and can't wait for his mage to be hung in his room. He is going to take the poster to his World of Warcraft club at college so that he can show it off to them. He is very excited, and he also thought Kristina's sketch in PhotoShop was cool as well.  He said that he wishes he can draw like that. :D

I am so, so pleased, and will surely commission her again! She was a pleasure to work with, and my brother is very happy, which is important to me.

I don't know anything about jewellery or crafts, but your pieces are nice. What I like is the similarity of them. I can envision them being in a gallery as a "series." Have you tried making different shapes (rather than the "rod" form you have now) out of your earrings? If you try to experiment with the overall shape, I think another series would be really interesting. (Does that make sense? I hope so.)

Yes, I have experimented with hoop earrings, multi-dangles, drops, chains, and other pieces. I think you make a fair, good suggestion, and I will attempt them when I have more time (i.e. when classes slow down).

Thank you again! :thanks:
